Installing energy efficiency improvements is now actually more affordable because the installation of energy-saving materials and heating equipment is now zero-rated. This 0% rate applies to a range of measures including solar panels, air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, water source heat pumps, solar storage batteries, and insulation among others. The 0% VAt is applicable until 31 March 2027, at which point it will revert to a still reduced rate of VAT of 5%.
